Women continue to make gains in corporate leadership, but progress remains gradual. A record 55 women now lead Fortune 500 companies — about 11% of the index — according to the Women Business Collaborative’s Women CEOs in America report, underscoring both how far women have come in the executive ranks and how much work remains.
Few executives understand that reality better than Aileen Alexander, CEO of DSG Global. Alexander leads one of the nation’s largest woman-founded executive search and leadership consulting firms after succeeding founder Judith von Seldeneck, who established the company in 1974 and spent five decades building it into a nationally recognized business while breaking barriers for women in leadership.
