Kuwait showcases advances in women’s leadership and justice

Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights and Head of the National Committee for the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Duaij Al-Sabah affirmed Tuesday Kuwait’s continued commitment to advancing human rights and empowering women within the justice system in line with the Constitution and international obligations.

She made the remarks during a lecture at a seminar organized by the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies titled “UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security: Between International Obligations and National Applications – Presenting the State of Kuwait’s Experience.” The seminar was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by the Human Rights Affairs Department, and was moderated by the institute’s Deputy Director for Communications, Relations and Research Counselor Dr Ahmed Al-Muqallad.
