The phenomenon in which women are judged by different criteria than men, often-times involving unattainable double standards, is nothing new. Research has shown this to be true in employee performance reviews, job interviews and consumer sentiment over company leadership, to name a few examples.
As we see more tech CEOs fall from glory in what many refer to as “CEO takedown pieces” – investigative articles that highlight issues with the CEOs and their companies – another example has emerged.
