“I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own.” -Audre Lorde. I came across this gem as I was preparing to join 40-odd women who were getting together early Sunday morning. What could they possibly be doing on that one day declared globally as a day of pure R&R? The WhatsApp group was throbbing with excitement.

Just to be clear — No, it wasn’t a run club, and no, it wasn’t a girlie travel gig either. And yes, these were women shouldering tremendous responsibilities, single moms, CEOs of start-ups, high-ranking corporate managers, consultants, students, authors and women with big-time domestic duties.

What I am trying to get at here is that they well and truly deserved a sleep-in on a Sunday at 7 am. Yet they consciously chose to come together all smiles, all dressed up, note pads in hand to discuss and acknowledge something that had shaped them into the women of substance that they are today – The Power of Invisible Leadership!
