‘Go for it’: Women leaders advise Jacksonville girls on careers, life as female VP is inaugurated

The night before the United States’ first female vice president was inaugurated, a group of Jacksonville’s women leaders took questions from teen girls on how they built their careers, overcame bullying from others and their own insecurities and achieved their dreams.

The answers showed how one generation helps another by “opening the door and keeping it open for those behind them,” said Nicole Thomas, hospital president of Baptist Medical Center South.
