It’s time to empower the next generation of female leaders

In 1979, 97 Chicago-area women got together to form a network to help each other navigate the halls of power in business, academia, philanthropy and government. Their objective was clear: Empower women to lead.

Crain’s ongoing spotlight on women in leadership is sponsored in part by Latham & Watkins and Wintrust.

They formed the Chicago Network, and today, this organization of more than 500 female leaders is taking the next big step to help promote another generation of female leaders by creating the Chicago Network Equity Principles—a pledge to work toward achieving gender equity in leadership roles throughout local organizations and businesses by the year 2030.
