More than half of Massachusetts college students are women, and women earn the majority of doctoral degrees. But while nearly half of all private college presidents are women, just one of the 15 state universities has a female president, according to a new study released Wednesday.
Women serve as presidents of 48 percent of all private colleges in the state, the study of gender parity in Massachusetts higher education found.
