Bihar to establish women’s university with female leadership and students, says CM Samrat Choudhary

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced on Thursday that the state will set up a women’s university where all principal roles, including Vice-Chancellor, professors, staff, and enrolled students, will be female. The announcement was made during the launch of the ‘Samriddh Mahila-Samriddh Bihar’ campaign in Patna.

The initiative aims to enhance women’s education, employment, and economic independence. “From the Vice-Chancellor to professors, employees and students, all will be women in this university,” CM Choudhary stated.

The event, organised by the Rural Development Department, featured the introduction of several women-focused schemes, including the transfer of Rs 600 crore via direct benefit transfer to 500,000 beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana.

CM Choudhary revealed that the government targets providing employment opportunities to 10 million women and intends to transform 10 million women into ‘Lakhpati Didis’ through activities spanning animal husbandry, manufacturing, and services sectors.
