Congress leader Simi Rosebell John, who had claimed that only those close to the leadership get opportunities in the party, was expelled from the grand old party on Sunday. Her comment came amid the ongoing sexual abuse allegations in the Malayalam film industry and soon prompted a complaint by the Mahila Congress against her.

While making shocking allegations, Simi Rosebell John went on to compare the situation in the Kerala Congress with that of “casting couch” in the film industry.
