CVS Health on Friday announced Karen S. Lynch will be promoted to CEO in February — which will make Lynch one of a few women to lead a S&P 500 company.

Lynch, who is currently executive vice president of CVS Health and president of Aetna, will take over as CEO and president and will join the board of directors when her successor, Larry J. Merlo, transitions from the role on February 1, 2021.
