Women say they are determined to increase their participation in leadership of global health since the Medical profession is a reflection of hierarchies and structures in society including gender-based hierarchies.
Kigali is hosting a conference dubbed Women Leaders in Global Health organized by University of Global Health Equity.
“Women must be in leadership roles, they make up 70% of the workforce and only 25% of leadership. I am confident that we will leave with concrete solutions,” Rwanda’s First Lady Jeannette Kagame said while delivering her remarks.
