An eighth-generation Nashvillian? With a history of women’s leadership, Susan Huggins is a rare find

Susan Huggins grew up in a three-story house with a grand porch off 12th Ave. in East Nashville.

“As my brother says, our house is the Kroger meat department,” she jokes. “They tore our house down when they built the Kroger on Gallatin Road.”

Perhaps they wouldn’t have, had they realized such Nashville royalty lived there.
