Are we finally taking the steps towards empowering women to take on school leadership?

Inequality at work is – quite rightly – a hot topic. We are finally starting to sit up and take note when it comes to addressing these issues in the world of education. Teaching is a female-dominated profession, yet even in education there is a leadership gender gap: 63 per cent of secondary school teachers are women, but only 39 per cent are headteachers. This is a massive underrepresentation of females in a leadership role.
