Since women first entered Chicago’s corporate workforce in meaningful numbers in the 1970s, when a few lucky women had the counsel of mentors who helped them secure C-suite roles (not many men were willing to help, and not many women were positioned to help), a simultaneous campaign for women to occupy the C-suites of the government sector has been going full force.
