This piece started with the assumption that in 2017 we would have a feminised global stage: there’d be Hillary Clinton in the White House, Theresa May in Downing Street, Angela Merkel in the Bundeskanzleramt, and Marine Le Pen in a hollowed-out volcano. I wanted to know: what would such a spectrum of women in power, with their various viewpoints, tell us about “women’s politics”? Is there such a thing? Is it a good thing?
