When it comes to female leadership, Bangladesh is way ahead of the United States

The July 24 article “Women steering the ship of state: They’re just about everywhere, except the U.S.” [Democratic Convention special section] forgot to mention the two female leaders who have steered Bangladeshi politics since 1991. Sheikh Hasina was the prime minister of Bangladesh from 1996 to 2001 and was elected again in 2009. Khaleda Zia served as the prime minister from 1991 to 1996 and 2001 to 2006.
