Supported by Molten, the initiative brings together 10 inspiring female commanders from around the world, selected for their innovative projects using basketball as a platform for social impact and community development.

One of FIBA’s strategic priorities is increasing girls’ participation and retention, developing sustainable community programmes and leadership pathways, and raising the profile of female athletes.

The selected participants represent a broad range of themes, including media storytelling initiatives, grassroots tournaments, leadership hubs, mentoring programmes and community development platforms designed to strengthen opportunities for girls and women,

From the end of March, they will take part in a series of monthly leadership webinars aimed at strengthening the development of their projects and broadening their leadership capabilities. The sessions, which will run through to August, will also create a supportive space for peer exchange and interregional collaboration. The programme will culminate at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 in Berlin, where the participants will present their initiatives on a global stage.
