The programme adds to the multi-year partnership between World Aquatics and KAP7, announced in May 2025 and running through the LA28 Olympic Games and beyond, and reflects World Aquatics’ commitment to the long-term development and empowerment of women in aquatics.
The Women in Water Polo Leadership Programme is a structured pathway designed to develop leadership skills, technical expertise and long-term career progression. Through online sessions, in-person courses and ongoing community support, participants will enhance their skills, confidence, visibility and professional networks.
A central element is the leadership development component, delivered primarily through online group sessions. Participants will begin with a leadership psychometric survey and then engage with core leadership concepts relevant to high-performance sport, including governance structures, power dynamics and strategies for navigating systemic barriers.
