The Automotive 30% Club has met its key target of having 30% of leadership roles in the industry filled by women, reaching the milestone five years ahead of its 2030 deadline.
The achievement was revealed in the club’s annual female representation survey, published in December, which showed member companies have collectively hit the 30% target. The club said this compares with a sector average of 10.5%.
It also reported that women make up 32% of the combined workforce across member organisations, which cover around 115,000 automotive employees. That is significantly higher than the wider sector figure of 18.6%, according to IMI data.
The club said the progress reflects inclusive leadership and a sustained effort to remove bias and discrimination, with senior leaders working alongside people and culture teams to overhaul policies and processes that have historically excluded female talent.
