The conversation about leadership diversity often centers around gender, ethnicity and age. Still, there’s a crucial aspect that’s frequently overlooked—neurodivergent women leaders, especially those on the spectrum and with ADHD. Between 15% and 20% of the global population identifies as neurodivergent, making a diagnosis in women far from uncommon. Neurodiversity arises from an inherent cognitive difference. Yet, it’s often the case that women camouflage their neurodiversity, or it remains undiagnosed.
Women with neurodivergence might find unique obstacles as they aim to advance in their careers. Neglecting the worth that female neurodivergent leaders contribute to a business fosters biases and robs companies of these women’s innovative capacities. Indeed, these women boast a unique prowess that, once utilized, can propel a mission onward.
