Women’s leadership in organisations is key to boosting productivity and enhancing economic inclusiveness, according to Ida Fauziyah, Indonesia’s Minister of Manpower.
Speaking at the Conference on Women’s Leadership in Public-Sector Organisations for Productivity Enhancement organised by the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO), Fauziyah urged policymakers and government representatives to prioritise increasing the representation of women in managerial roles.
She emphasised that women possess inherent qualities that make them well-suited for leadership roles, citing their patience, empathy, and skills in networking, communication, and multitasking. “An empowered woman has confidence. She can make decisions for herself and wields access to opportunities and resources that provide her with numerous chances and options to take,” she added.
